He played the same role when the Brotherhood volunteers led the liberation campaign against the British colonialists in the Suez Canal in Sayyid Sabiq was imprisoned by the Egyptian government in with thousands of Muslim Brotherhood members, many of them fighting in Palestine.

They could prove nothing against him and he was released without charge.
Indeed that false accusation was nothing more than a distortion of his role in having encouraged the youth members of the Brotherhood to volunteer for jihad and heightened their enthusiasm to fight against the Zionist aggressors in Palestine and the colonial power in Suez.
Sayyid Sabiq had a good measure of the sense of humor of Egyptian people.

The Book fiqh us sunnah by as sayyid sabiq Allaah is that which is recited by the tongues, written in the masaahif copiesand preserved in the hearts; regarding which: Sometimes it is taken from the dhaahir apparent meaning; which is defined as that which is indicative of the meaning, in a general manner, both through wording and meaning.
Sometimes it is taken from the mantooq explicit meaning ; which is defined as being that which is indicative of the ruling due to the wording of the text. Or by divergent fiqh us sunnah by as sayyid sabiq if the mafhoomdiffers from the mantooq in its ruling; whereas the mantooq is linked to a wasf attribute or a shart conditionin the absence of which the ruling differs.
